Florence's Obituary

Florence Wolfanger, 84, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at her home.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 P.M., Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Christ Lutheran Church,  4333 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville with Rev. Dr. Philip G. Quardokus officiating. Friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M., Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or Marriage Encounter. Those wishing to share a memory of Florence online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com  Florence was born January 2, 1933, in Battle Creek, MI to Herbert & Elsie (Linton) Davy. She attended Western Michigan University where she received her Master’s Degree. On December 17, 1965, she married Karl Wolfanger Sr., in East Lansing, MI. Florence was a teacher for Bridgman Public Schools for many years. She was a member of the Bridgman Education Association, Michigan Education Association, and National Education Association as well as Marriage Encounter and Stephen Ministries at Christ Lutheran Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, making teddy bears, and taking a hospice therapy dog to visit many nursing facilities in the area to help people.  Florence is survived by her husband Karl Wolfanger Sr.; sons Bob Wolfanger and Steven Kemp; grandchildren Patrick Kemp and Rory Kemp; and brother Vernon Davy. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert and sister Dorothy.
