Dorothy Nordlander

Dorothy Lorraine Nordlander, 96, of St. Joseph, MI went on to the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ and her beloved husband on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Buchanan Meadows in Buchanan, MI. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at The Chapel, 4250 Washington Ave, St Joseph, MI 49085 with Pastor Philip Bubar presiding. Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Memorials may be made to either The Gideons, Saron Lutheran Church, or The Chapel. She married John Robert Nordlander on June 15, 1940 in Chicago, he preceded her in death on August 1, 1996.   A professional homemaker, Dorothy loved nothing more than taking care of her home and her family. She loved to garden, sew and embroider.  She was also very strong in her faith and was a member of The Chapel.  Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Janet (Bill) Oleson of St. Joseph and Linda (Doug) Tjernlund, of Stevensville; grandchildren, Bill (Suzanne) Oleson, Heather (Clark) Brigger, Jason (Alexandra) Tjernlund, and Justin Tjernlund; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Brigger, Erik Brigger, Katherine Brigger, Emma Oleson, and Christopher Oleson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; and siblings Marilyn Wobith and Richard Anderson.
