Janet D. Meachum

Janet Darlene Meachum, 88, of Dowagiac, MI passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at The Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac, MI. Janet’s life began on October 7, 1924 in Dowagiac. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Clara (Fisher) Watson. She started her housekeeping career working at Lee Memorial Hospital and continued at Chateau Nursing Home and Hales Hardware. Her life was surrounded with a loving family and friends, playing bingo and growing up on the farm. Her loving family includes her children, Barbara Phillips, Bonnie (Jim) Justus, Teresa (Joe) Yakim all of Dowagiac, Jerry (Sue) Sink of Niles and stepson Donald E. Meachum of Dowagiac, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved parents, husbands Garland A. “Bud” Sink and Donald B. Meachum, one son Lloyd G. “Buddy” Sink, one granddaughter, three great grandchildren, two brothers John Watson and Richard Watson and one sister Helen Sweet. The Family will be receiving friends at Yazel-Clark Chapel, Dowagiac, on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from noon until time of funeral service at 1pm. Officiating at the Celebration of Life Service will be Pastor Stacey Wilder of Calvary Bible Church, Dowagiac. She will be laid to rest at Sumnerville Cemetery in Niles immediately following the services, followed by food and fellowship at Calvary Bible Church.
