Janet Veach

Janet’s life began on August 4, 1923 in Dowagiac, the daughter of Theodore and Edith Vinton (Benner). She was a 1943 graduate of Dowagiac Central High School. Janet was united in marriage to Merle Thomas Veach on June 12, 1943 at the First Methodist Church in South Bend. She worked for Heddon’s and as a waitress. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and Dowagiac Moose. Janet was also a member of the Dowagiac First United Methodist Church. Her beautiful smile and friendly spirit will be remembered by many. Her loving family includes her children Thomas (Theresa) Veach of Sebring, FL, Jackie (Ron) Antiss of Berrien Center, and daughter in law Theresa Veach of Niles, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and her brother James Hilliard of Dowagiac. Janet passed away on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at the Timbers of Cass County. She is preceded in death by her husband, a son Gary in 1990 and two brothers Richard and John Hilliard.
