David's Obituary
David L. Cunningham, 85, of St. Joseph, passed away, November 5, 2023 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.
David was born September, 12, 1938 in River Rouge, MI to John & Holly (Moyle) Cunningham. On July 29, 1961, David married Liana “Lee” Guidi in Portland, MI. David dedicated his entire career to education. Always a Teacher first, he eventually became a school Principal and finally a Superintendent. He also had a passion and love for golf, playing right up until his passing. When not golfing, David enjoyed reading a good book.
David’s love for education and golf was only superseded by his love of family and friends
David is survived by his sons, Jonathan (Tanya) Cunningham of Pleasantville NY, Samuel (Heidi) Cunningham of Los Angeles, CA and David (Camille) Cunningham, Jr. of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Tess, Claire & Kendall Cunningham.
David was preceded in death by his parents, wife Liana “Lee” Cunningham and brother Jack Cunningham.
A Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 22, 2024 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware Ave., Benton Harbor, MI 49022. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, June 21, 2024 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085 with prayers recited at 7:30 P.M.
