Fritz's Obituary
John “Fritz” Lester, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 4, 2023. He was born on October 9, 1957, to Chauncey and Janet “Longacre” Lester in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Visitation for Fritz will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Starks and Menchinger Chapel (2650 Niles Rd.) from 1:30 - 3:00 pm with a time of sharing starting at 3:00 pm. Feel free to share a memory with Fritz’s family at www.starksfamilyfh.com.
Fritz worked for AEP as a Radiation Protection Technician for 28 years until his retirement in October of 2021. Outside of work he loved riding his motorcycle with his wife, Cheryl, and driving his ’66 GTO that he finished working on earlier this year. He was a gifted pool player that only his wife could beat, every once in a while. He enjoyed watching sci-fi, especially Star Trek. You could often find Fritz out on his back deck and he always had his hot tub time. His greatest passion in life was being able to spend time with his family whom he loved dearly, as well as his pets he took care of over the years. DA BEARS!
Fritz is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Lester; children, Tatum (Eric) Sobecki, John Lester II, Kristina Henry; grandchildren, Wesley and Allie; and brother, Cleve Lester. He was preceded in death by his parents; and dear sister, Melanie Findlay.
