We remember Rose Ellen as a gentle caring lady who loved her faith and practiced it. She had a lovely smile and a sincere interest in everyone she knew. In Bible study at St. Bernards's, she spoke with faith and clarity and we all listened carefully to her contribution to the discussions.

Aunt RoseEllen was such a beautiful, generous spirit always exuding class, strength and empathy for others. I loved hearing her family stories and seeing her appreciate all the joys life brought her. She will always be an inspiration to those lucky enough to have crossed her path.

Aunt Rose was always an inspiration to me, such a faith filled person. I loved listening to her childhood stories, as she made us feel connected to a life on the prairie of long ago. I also loved that she reminded me so much of my mom, her voice, her mannerisms, her great laugh. I loved visiting the McCourt family when I was a kid. She was a mom who took all those kids to the beach every day with a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter. She was a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, wife, friend, teacher.........but for me, a beautiful aunt. Love you Aunt Rose. Julie

Aunt RoseEllen was a gentle woman. She was always so soft spoken. She and Uncle Tom or some of her family traveled to North Dakota for an annual family visit. We
looked forward to her coming out to ND even as youngsters. Dad seemed to have a special bond with his sisters. Aunt RE faced challenges as something that needed to be done and went ahead and got things done. We loved to hear her stories about our dad, Al. She had so much to share. She will always hold a special place in
our hearts. Hugs and prayers to all McCourt cousins!

Dear cousins,
Thinking of you at this time and sending our love as we will not be able to be with you during Covid. Aunt Rose holds a very special place in our hearts. We are so grateful for all the family reunions each summer for so many years. Hopefully those get togethers will continue.
Take care and God bless,

It was my pleasure to have known Rose Ellen through my years of teaching. She had a knack for making sure people felt safe and attended to in her presence. She had a sharp mind and kept all on point. She was a person we should all have had as a mentor and friend.

Rose Ellen took Communion to my mom many years ago when she was in a nursing home. She always made it a special holy time. My mom loved telling this story. Rose Ellen would always light a candle and they would say some prayers before mom received Christ. One day a nurse walked in and said, "On my goodness! You can't have a candle burning in here! We have oxygen in here!" My mom nor Rose Ellen had even given it a thought. The Lord was watching over them though. Thank you Rose Ellen for being so generous to so many while here on earth. I'm sure our Lord is blessing you abundantly now in heaven.

Dear Family & friends. I was so very sorry to hear the news of your "loved one's" passing! As Pastor of SS John& Bernard Parish for twelve wonderful years. I had the privilege of working with both Ruth Ellen & Tom. The strength of their Faith and their Dedication to practice it was truly impressive. Know of my Prayers for your "Loved one", as well as all of you who mourn her loss. You sure know that Heaven is a better place now that Ruth Ellen has arrived. I was blest to be able to journey with your "loved ones." May they rest in peace... With heartfelt sympathy, Father Bill Jacobs, Former Pastor, SS John & Bernard Parish.
