Dear Mahler Family - Please accept my deepest sympathy in George's passing. I have known George and Velma all my life and in spite of geographical distance have always felt very close to them.
I have very special and clear memories of the many, many times I babysat for them. Doing so was something I loved, even though the older boys could be "little stinkers" from time to time.
George was a great bus driver - - it was like having a neighbor pick me up and take me home from school each day. I can remember my brothers (4 of them) being late and running out the door one at a time. George always waited, saying - "if I can see you coming, I won't leave without you."
After growing up and moving away, it was always a special treat to see George and Velma when I was home for a visit. George's sense of humor never waned, and his positive attitude always inspired me.
Rest in peace, dear George.

My Sympathy to Velma and all the Children. Went to school with Jeanne and my parents were friends with George and Velma...in fact George stood up in their wedding. Looks like he had a great long life.

Sorry to hear of George's passing. Knew him and the family for many years when we lived on Scottdale Rd. in the 50's. Worked in his hay field as a youngster and learned what the meaning of hard work meant. A good man to the kids. Rest in peace George and my sincerest condolences to Thelma and the family.
