I’m so sorry, I didn’t realize that this great lady had passed until I was reading the bulletin this morning. They are saying a Mass for her today at the elementary school. What a wonderful teacher Miss Ford was! Our son Max was fortunate to be in her class in 3rd grade. She helped to mold him into the fine person he is today. This world would be a much better one with Miss Ford teaching in every classroom. Thank you, Miss Ford. ✝️

Loved working with Ann. She was the best Christmas cookie exchange partner ever! Rachael thoroughly enjoyed being her student.

I remember having Miss Ford as my teacher for some of my 3rd grade classes. She made me work hard in my studies and was always straightforward and respectful towards me. That mindset and those qualities shows her passion for teaching, and I appreciate her caring about my studies, and me as a person.

Miss Ford was my third grade teacher, as well as for all the Visin children who were is her class. My grandma was the cook for just as long as Miss Ford was teaching so they became very good friends. I have some of the best memories from that grade. From sending me down to get cookies from my grandma for the whole class, to making the best crafts! Miss Ford truly thought of us students as her family. It showed everyday in her teaching us, her hard attitude to push us, and her spirit into making school fun! One of my favorite teachers has passed on, but her teaching lessons and memories will never be forgotten! P.S this would have been written in cursive!

Mrs. Ford was my 3rd grade teacher. She saw what you were capable of and always pushed you to be your best. When I was in her class, I decided I wanted to be a teacher. Now I teach 3rd grade, and never a year goes by that I don’t think back to what an inspiration she was. She will forever be in the hearts of her students, and of course mine.

The news of Miss Ford's passing on All Saints' Day was unexpected but also emblematic, in a way, for such a dedicated Catholic school teacher. Though she retired from LMCES in 2005 after her long teaching career, Miss Ford remains, as legends do, an influence in our school through her enduring model of excellence, and, wonderfully, in current teachers who were her students. We who knew Miss Ford, whether as the teacher, colleague, friend, or faithful parishioner, feel a keen sadness, but that is quickly eclipsed by a sense of joy and gratitude for having known and learned from her, awe at her inimitable teaching style and abundant compassion, as well as the immediate recall of so many stories that end in laughter.

We are blessed to have known Ann for the brief 2 years since we moved in across the street. She first beguiled us with her laughter and good humor, conversations in the street - literally - and then came the cookies and the cheesecake!! She always welcomed our phone calls. We will truly miss her her warm heart.

What an honor and pleasure to have worked with Ann for many years at Lake Michigan Catholic! Incredible teacher and an even better person! Thank you for the great memories, and inviting me to your "bowling banquet". What a great time (who knew you didn't even bowl, but you sure knew how to have an end of the year banquet!) Thank you and God Bless is all I can say. So sad about your passing.

I was fortunate to be Ann’s teaching partner for several years at LMC. We became wonderful friends and shared many memorable teaching moments, including Ann’s proud creation of the Mother’s Day Mass. Outside of school, we shared a love for baking, and over the years, exchanged many favorite recipes. Ann was one in a million and I feel so blessed to have shared her friendship.

Ann or “neighbor lady” as I called her endearingly, was an amazing friend and cheerleader to me. No matter what I had going on in my life , she was always there to talk to. Whenever I would change teaching positions , she would always offer me words of encouragement. She loved her neighbors , her friends , her students , and her family more than anything . She also loved her flowers in her yard and was one of the best bakers I have ever known! She made amazing fudge and monster cookies as well as Andes mint cookies ! I will definitely miss her laughter and friendship from next door !

Ann was a gift to all who knew her. She would always say prayers any time me or my family needed a blessing or healing. Ann made the best fudge and cookies. She always could make me laugh. I will miss our talks, phone calls and emails. God must have heard about your awesome fudge. I will never forget you Ann. You were the best neighbor. My condolences to your family and friends.

Miss Ford was my third grade teacher. Her structure and high expectations helped form me into the person (and teacher) I am today. She was a true "great" and an icon of hardwork and perseverance at LMC.
