To the Prather family, I am so sorry for your loss. I went to high school with Derek and we were friends. He was always smiling and fun to be around, and he will be greatly missed.

Derek was always welcomed in our home. He and Katherine made me laugh so much with their stories and songs of Amy W. He would panic when I used aluminum foil and this would bring so much laughter. Prayers of comfort to you all. Peace sweet Derek.

I didn’t know Derek for long but I enjoyed the time we had. He had a fun spirit and so many interests. He cared about people and made them feel special. He will be missed by many.

Derek was one of the kindest and most genuine people to come into my life - always bringing joy! I'm thankful for the time we spent singing together in concert choir, and working at The Toy Company. We reconnected this summer, and I'll be forever grateful for that. Love forever

Derek was funny, kind and had a beautiful heart. We sat together during lunch and next to one another in choir. He loved Christina Aguilera and no bake cookies from the cafeteria. He had a beautiful singing voice and loved animals. Sending your beautiful family my condolences. Derek may you reside in peace.

I am so saddened to hear of Derek’s passing. I have fond memories of having in French class. He not only was a fine student but also a kind young man. I remember fondly having good conversations with him. What a loss. My deepest sympathy to his family

I am just heartbroken at the passing of this precious man. We became acquainted when he worked for Meijer and he always would wait on me and even stayed over once so he could check me out. Condolences to you and family
