I am so blessed to have met this fun, wonderful lady, summer, 2015, at the Whitcomb, where she and my mom were living at the time. My husband and I started/hosted Game Night at the W, and Helen was a charter member. She waited for our arrival and always saved me a chair next to her. Helen was full of vim and vinegar right up to the end. She often would say, “Why am I still here?” I would tell her, “Hey, we haven’t been friends that long. You aren’t going anywhere.” That gave her a chuckle. We looked into those smiling eyes just a couple weeks ago Saturday. She was watching football in her room at “A Place Called Home” that evening but often she was playing cards in the dining room. She was very happy in her small world. When we were leaving, I kissed the top of her head and said “I love you, be good” which always produced a giggle. Well Helen, as you always said when hearing someone passed, “May she/he Rest In Peace.” This one is for you, my friend. Until we meet again…….

Gram I miss you so much...but I know you are so happy to be in heaven where there are no more leg cramps! When I used to talk to you on the phone I would ask how you are and you always said, "Just waiting for the good Lord to take me!" I love you Gram

What an accomplishment to live 101 years and live long enough to have great-great grandchildren. Wow! She was a sweetheart, and I was grateful my mom had her as a friend. I know she was ready for her next adventure with the Lord, but we will miss her. Maybe you and mom are golfing in heaven now.
