James 's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of James here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
When Jim first started working in Battle Creek, he was assigned to the office I worked in and since we were close in age my boss asked me to be Jim's mentor while he got used to his new job. We both had an interest in sports so we became good friends. Jim even took me to my first U of M football game. While Jim was working in Ogden, I had a business trip out there and he showed me aroung Ogden and took me to a Weber State basketball game. I retired about a year after Jim did and he even drove to Battle Creek to attend my retirement ceremony. We exchanged birthday and Christmas cards for many years until his death, with each card filled with comments on Michigan, Michigan State, Western Michigan and Central Michigan (where I graduated from) sports as well as the Detroit Tigers and Lions and occasionally the Bears, Cubs and White Sox. I will miss exchanging our thoughts on the local sports teams and not hearing from him again. It really saddens me that Jim is gone. He was a good friend!

We love you so much Uncle Jim! You are greatly missed! Holidays will not be the same without your cute animal cards for each family member. I’ve loved receiving postcards from your travels over the years and still want to go to Punchbowl to share that experience. It’s been great to share our differing experiences of living in Utah at different times. It made me feel connected to family even though we were far apart. You never let any of my accomplishments go by without acknowledging them, no matter how seemingly small. Your care packages during my deployments made me feel at home. You always put your family above yourself, but I hope you know how much we wanted to finally help care for you in the end. I’m so glad you got to meet Emmalyn and Elijah James in person this year. Lots of love from Kathleen, Gabe, Emmalyn, & Elijah James
