Jane and John, I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was a very nice lady and was always welcoming to us neighborhood kids. May she rest in peace.

Jean's son John was a college classmate of mine. After I and my wive moved to Illinois, we would sometimes drop by the Frambach house unannounced on our way to visit my mother in Muskegon and we were always made to feel welcome. One time in particular was late on a very snowy Christmas Eve. We had gotten a late start and I94 was becoming nearly impassable. In desperation we got off at the Sawyer exit and made our way to the Frambach's. I worked up my courage and rang the doorbell when it must have been after 11PM. A light came on and John and his mom appeared to behold us two frozen waifs. I said "Sorry but there was no room at the inn!" We were quickly ushered inside where I called to let my mom know where we were, and Jean brought us upstairs and let us have Jane's room since she wasn't there at the time. The next morning (Christmas!), we were planning to get out of their hair asap but Jean insisted on including us in their Christmas breakfast before letting us get on our way. We were very touched by her patience and generosity.

Todd, Thank You for the amazing story of Mom's open arms and always plenty of food at the table. John told your story to her Pastor while describing what at generous woman Mom was. Weary travelers on Christmas Eve, needing to come in from the storm.
