Barbara and I send our condolences to all of the Amars. What great neighbors you have been to us since 1971, when we moved to Clinton St. It was a great place to raise a family. There were eleven children in our block belonging to the Amars, Griers and Dehns. Marge was a great parent, friendly, energetic, an avid gardener, well-read and the neighborhood historian. We miss her. To Marta, Claudia, Katia and Monie, know that we will always cherish the memories of your mother and father.

I'll this opportunity to express my deepest condolences to you all. I got to know your mother when she would sub in high school and we seemed to either hit it off or she would just out up with me. She was such a nice person and will always have a place in my memories. I'm so sorry for your loss.

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mom. Claudia, I remember in grade school she made us bean bag frogs when we had a slumber party. She was an amazing woman and a good neighbor to us on Clinton Street. Hugs to you all. β‘

I am very saddened by the thought of never laughing with her again. She was such a force of nature. She left a beautiful legacy in her daughters and their families. I know they will miss her very much. π

Just want to express my condolences to you and your whole family. No matter how much expected these things are in our lives, I remember being totally unprepared for the loss of my parents. Someone said this to me when I was grieving and I found it so helpful. " As long as you breathe, so does she" She lives on in each of you and in your children. Thinking of you all and sending my empathy.

Dear Marta, Claudia, Katia, Moni and to your families too...Well, another tough woman who brought so much to the South Haven community including her fabulous daughters (smile) is gone. When I think AAUW, I think of your Mom. She was by nature a leader. And, like my Mom, she married a good man who did not stand in her way. I am sorry for your loss but I know she lives on in you four. Hugs and love to you all! PJ Canonie-Bubin

I donβt even know where to begin. I was in and out of this lovely ladyβs home too many times to count as a child. Marta and I were such good friends. Some of my favorite childhood memories were spent in her home, at βbeauty pageants βin her yard and at the blueberry farm with Margaret and Gonzales. I could stand up in the back of their car hanging on to the cord across the back of the front seats. I am so thankful to have had the chance to visit with her and once again go back in time a couple of years ago on a trip back home. You were like a second mom to me growing up Margaret . Love you sweet lady. Love you Marta and all the little sisters!! Kathy π

Mrs. Amar was a loving mom to all the kids in the neighborhood. For my sister Kathy and me she was always just two houses away. Later, when I was briefly living on the same block again I would see her out, often on her own, going for a walk to the lake bluff. She was into her 90s. She was always so with it, wise, and kind. With her passing goes the last of the mom generation. So sad, of course, but wow were we the luckiest kids in South Haven. Thinking of all the beautiful Amar daughters. Love, Barry

Dear Amar family, I remember Stina from when I was just a boy, particulary at church gatherings at the Fagerlund home on Clinton St. in South Haven, and also at the blueberry farm on 26th St. near Covert; the farm was near my grandpa Olson's farm on the same road and as kids we'd pick in the summer for Mr. Fagerlund and walk down the road to my grandpa's farm for lunch. Those were great days growing up with a lot of Swedish influence. Treasure your heritage and memories and they will bring you joy and comfort.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother. I remember having her as a substitute teacher in high school and she was always considered a teacher to remember. She was always there for the kids.
