I am so sorry for your loss Tammy. Patrick had a profound influence on my life in a time where I needed a positive role model. 4 years my senior, he moved in next door and immediately impacted my brother's life and my life. From words of wisdom to shenanigan's, he was always there. His service in the Marines had an impact on me as well, joining the Navy in my Senior year '88 and made it a career. I haven't seen Pat in some years but have very fond memory's of time spent with him. He will be missed greatly.

Pat's passing is still hard for me to process. He was too young and vibrant for this. Over the years Pat and I bailed each other out of some pretty interesting situations ranging from tracking cougars in the dark to getting tractors out of mud and other farming problems to, of course, firearms and munitions problems. If I had a problem, or just needed an ear, I could count on Pat to help out. I don't know if you can ever replace a friend like Pat and I've been lucky to have known him, bunny huger or not.

I am so very shocked and saddened to hear this news. I've known Pat for years through American Belgian Malinois Rescue. He was always our go-to-guy for transport and evaluation in the SW Michigan area. I was fortunate enough to spend a few weekends with Pat one summer when he opened up his farm to ABMR for a fundraiser and donated all the proceeds from the handpicked blueberries to rescued Malinois. His presence will be sorely missed. I'll miss the pictures of his pups and descriptions of what he had going on the grill and his trips to Italy. Condolences and gratitude from American Belgian Malinois Rescue and myself.

Tammy, I have known Pat for maybe 30 years. I had the pleasure to watch him graduate from boot camp along with Kurt and Scott. He most always had a smile and huge hug waiting for anyone who knew him. Around 10 years ago I brought my kids to Michigan from Florida. We ended up needing berries and headed to your farm. Pat came wheeling up his ATV, my then 10 yr old daughter asked for a ride and of course Pat agreed. On their way back to the barn, he let her drive and they ended up popping a wheelie almost into the barn! The look on his face was priceless as he was belly laughing too! Great memories with Pat and he will be missed dearly. RIP brother, we have it from here. Ohh Rah!

WOW! It is hard to believe that Pat is gone. I had some great times with Pat on & around Camp Pendleton CA. I can remember going to Escondido with Pat & myself & 4 other people. I think they were Underwood, Lewis, Parker, Bernard? We were going for a weekend of shooting & had my trunk of the car loaded up with firearms & ammo. The trunk was so full, we had to put tow rifles in the back window to get them to fit in. The muffler of my car had fallen off the week before & I had no time to fix it before we went shooting that weekend. We were heading out to Escondido & a police car pulled in behind me & started fallowing me. I told the guys we were about ready to get pulled over for my car making so much noise, but to my surprise the policeman said he was pulling us over for the 2 rifles in the window. I think there were like 2 SWAT teams there & probably over a dozen cop cars? We were said to have had traffic backed up for over 5 miles on both sides of the highway. We were probably there for over 2 hours while the cops ran every gun we had throw the Ser# of hot guns list. One time when Pat & I were at Case Springs, I watch Pat in total disbelief as he took out 3 squirrels with 3 shots from his H & R model 700 .22 Mag rifle. Pat was one hell of a shot with a rifle & pistol. He could shoot his .44 mag all day long & still be on target. I shot 6 shots from it, with his hand loads & I could not shoot it anymore. I remember hunting deer with him @ case Springs. I got one, but that is another story. That one is called the One that got away. Pat started calling me MO after Okinawa, because a MSGT messed up my name & was calling roll call one morning. He said only answer if your name is on my list. He keep calling for MOhaffey. I never said a thing, but was thinking. I wonder if this MOhaffey is any relations to my family? Finely the MSGT read of my service # & low & behold it was me. Pat got the biggest kick out of that & my new nick name from then on was always MO to him. I got other great memories of him & wish I would have keep in touch more. I will send Tammy some pictures I can find @ a later date. I will miss Pat. Sorry for your loss Tammy. Mike Mehaffey Loveland Co.

Tammy, I am so very sorry for your loss. Pat was like family to my family. I always thought of him as an older brother. We met him when he was in the Marine Corp in California. He and Keeb worked the gun range at my parents campground. I always remember a day when he took my brother and I to the base, I think it was a family day or something. We got to dress in camp and shoot. We kept in touch for a long time but somehow we lost touch. Even though we didn’t hear from him anymore he was on our minds often and always a part of our family. We never got the chance to meet you in person but know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, hugs and prayers, Kandi

Pat was always so friendly when he visited my farm market in Bangor. I loved hearing about what he was cooking. Tho his delicious recipes could never be duplicated. Once he brought me some homemade ravioli. AMAZING. I anyways tried to save him some nice eggplant in case he came by. But sadly this past summer the visits were less frequent. I especially loved hearing about trips to Italy which has always been a dream vacation for me. He WILL be missed. So very sorry.

Dear Tammy, I am so sorry for your loss. Pat was my husband's best friend back in the Marine Corps. He spent many nights at our home just chilling or playing Pictionary with our group of friends. Mike and I regret losing touch all these years. Pat professed to hate cats. He once pet sit for our cats for two weeks. We came home to find him asleep on the couch. One cat on his chest and one in his lap. He told me my cats were unique and while GEM and Amber were great cats, all others were better used for target practice. LOL. He was great at Pictionary by the way. While we were gone on that trip someone stole my car out of our carport. He felt so bad when he had to call and tell us. Funny thing is, my car wasn't running when we left so the thieves had to fix it to steal it. Pat still felt responsible even though it wasn't his fault. He was a really great guy and a good friend.
